{"id":183,"date":"2009-04-27T23:51:41","date_gmt":"2009-04-27T16:51:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.iwayvietnam.com\/tuanta\/?p=183"},"modified":"2009-04-27T23:51:41","modified_gmt":"2009-04-27T16:51:41","slug":"hylafax-600-released","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.iwayvietnam.com\/tuanta\/2009\/04\/hylafax-600-released\/","title":{"rendered":"HylaFAX 6.0.0 released"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>ANNOUNCE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The HylaFAX development team is pleased to announce the first release of HylaFAX 6.0. \u00a0HylaFAX 6.0 contains lots of new development and features that have accumulated in CVS for the past year since HylaFAX 4.4 was branched off for stable maintenance.<\/p>\n<p>Our sincerest thanks go to all who participate in the development and testing process.<\/p>\n<p>The source code for this release is available from our FTP site: <span class=\"Object\"><span class=\"Object\"><a href=\"ftp:\/\/ftp.hylafax.org\/source\/testing\/hylafax-6.0.0.tar.gz\" target=\"_blank\">ftp:\/\/ftp.hylafax.org\/source\/testing\/hylafax-6.0.0.tar.gz<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>MD5SUM: 716de4f44b2a18205b4b24135f307e23 \u00a0hylafax-6.0.0.tar.gz<\/p>\n<p>SHA1SUM: f8020efcd48d17f5728d5bb0e6b46df2cd4b8ad2 \u00a0hylafax-6.0.0.tar.gz<\/p>\n<p>HylaFAX 6.0 introduces several new features for HylaFAX:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>PCL Support<\/li>\n<li> hfaxd can sort list output (like sendq) arbitrarily for clients<\/li>\n<li> I18n: HylaFAX client strings are now translated and available in different languages<\/li>\n<li> IPv6 support<\/li>\n<li>New permissions in hfaxd to allow for more admin control on who can see\/modify jobs\/faxes (see PublicJobQ\/JobProtection\/PublicRecvQ)<\/li>\n<li>Powerful page range handling capabilities<\/li>\n<li> Better faxq\/notify integration as well as many improvements to the T.30 protocol code.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are only 2 differences to note if you&#8217;re upgrading from HylaFAX 4.4 or older, neither of which are likely to affect many users:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>If you have clients that still use the old protocol (not the common FTP style protocol), they will no longer work with the new hfaxd daemon.<\/li>\n<li>The notification email mechanism no longer sends &#8220;blocked&#8221; emails by default, as the jobs are not being requeued, or done. \u00a0To continue receiving them, you&#8217;ll need to configure it accordingly in FaxNotify.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The full set of release notes is browsable: <span class=\"Object\"><a href=\"http:\/\/git.hylafax.org\/HylaFAX?a=blob;f=doc\/RELEASENOTES-6.0.txt;hb=HYLAFAX-6_0_0\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/git.hylafax.org\/HylaFAX?a=blob;f=doc\/RELEASENOTES-6.0.txt;hb=HYLAFAX-6_0_0<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>HYLAFAX BINARY PACKAGES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Binary packages for some operating systems and platforms are available.
