{"id":71,"date":"2008-08-08T14:33:07","date_gmt":"2008-08-08T07:33:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.iwayvietnam.com\/tuanta\/2008\/08\/08\/joining-ubuntu-repositories\/"},"modified":"2008-08-08T14:33:07","modified_gmt":"2008-08-08T07:33:07","slug":"joining-ubuntu-repositories","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.iwayvietnam.com\/tuanta\/2008\/08\/joining-ubuntu-repositories\/","title":{"rendered":"Joining Ubuntu Repositories"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Linux users have pondered: \u201cWouldn\u2019t it be nice to just grab Zimbra software via repositories?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There was just so much positive feedback over <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zimbrablog.com\/blog\/archives\/2008\/07\/zimbra-desktop-beta-3s-new-features.html\">Zimbra Desktop Beta 3<\/a> (with over 900 new members to the forums last month!) we thought that Ubuntu 32-bit users should be able to grab it easily. (<a href=\"http:\/\/bugzilla.zimbra.com\/show_bug.cgi?id=15746\">64-bit support<\/a> is coming soon)<\/p>\n<p>This brings <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zimbra.com\/products\/desktop.html\">Zimbra Desktop\u2019s<\/a> easy setup against ZCS, Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, AOL and any other IMAP\/POP accounts to the huge Ubuntu community &#8211; letting them take mail, contacts, calendars, tasks, documents, and briefcase items offline and sync whatever actions they may take when they\u2019re reconnected.<\/p>\n<p>To install:<br \/>\nsudo synaptic (As you\u2019re read this it\u2019s being added to Applications &gt; Add\/Remove.)<br \/>\nEnable the third party packages in settings &gt; repositories.<br \/>\nReload, search for \u201cZimbra\u201d, and away you go. (same as a sudo apt-get install zdesktop)<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.zimbrablog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/zdubuntu.png\" alt=\"ZDubuntu\" \/>Once downloaded, start via Applications &gt; Internet:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.zimbrablog.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/installzdubuntu.png\" alt=\"installZDubuntu\" \/>Many thanks to the Canonical Team for showcasing us on their frontpage: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ubuntu.com\/news\/zimbra-desktop\">ubuntu.com\/news\/zimbra-desktop<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Not using Ubuntu?
